Chance me?

Hi,

I am a current Junior in high school. I come from a high achieving area and I am currently finishing up my high school years at a community college program.
I have tons of extra curriculars: varsity soccer, competitive club soccer, work (on and off), various summer jobs, 300 volunteer hours, and voice lessons.
I have two amazing reccomendation letters coming in from my teachers.

My GPA is shown below - this isn't exactly what I will apply with because I still have one quarter this year left (very good grades coming in) and my senior year to come, but the grades will be high for next year as well. So far this is what I have:

Acad. GPA (9-12) 3.45 UW, 3.6 W
Total GPA (9-12) 3.52 UW, 3.66 W
Acad. GPA (10-12) 3.6 UW, 3.83 W

I have a current ACT score of 25, but I am retaking it next weekend and I predict at least a 27.

The colleges that I am interested are (in increasing order of difficulty):

University of Oregon
Seattle University
CU Boulder
NYU
University of British Columbia
UC Irvine
University of Puget Sound
UC Davis
UC Santa Barbara
Occidental
Emory
Cal Poly
UCLA
UC Berkeley

I know most of these schools are stretches, but I did this on purpose. As long as I can get into 3-4+ schools, I will be happy.

Thank you so much for your time!!

I have to say that Berkeley and UCLA are extreme reaches for you, at this point. Emory probably is, also. Are you looking at Cal Poly-SLO or Pomona? Which department would you be applying to? You have to declare a major for Cal Poly, and admission rates vary radically. Have you calculated your UC GPA? If it is over 3.8, you might have an outside shot at Davis or UCSB. I’d say that your current ACT score is just a little too low for Occidental, but an improvement might bring that into reach. Oregon and Colorado-Boulder might be matches for you. NYU is definitely a reach. I can’t speak for University of British Columbia. Puget Sound is probably a match. Your GPA is respectable. I suggest you explore some test-optional colleges. Many of the schools on your list would remain reaches even if your ACT score rises by 2 or 3 points.

I’m looking at Cal Poly SLO - not sure what department I would be applying to.
My UC GPA is going to be around a 3.9.
I’m hoping that a higher act score will at least give me a chance at most of these schools. What do you think a 28 would do for me? Also, keep in mind that my GPA (weighted especially) will be a bit higher when I apply to these schools.
