The only unique aspect provided that could actually effect your application is being a vegetarian if maybe your took a liberal, go-green stance in one of your essays and expanded on that. As for the PSATS, a 1610 is very low, especially for Carnegie Mellon. When I took my PSAT sophomore year I scored an 1800, and on my ACT I got a 31 with a 2140 SAT equivalent. So it’s definitely not impossible to improve those scores, especially since Junior year just began. Make sure you are taking practice tests and sections consistently and based on your new PSAT scores, consider getting a tutor. For CMU and RIT you need to score above a 2100 (the ACT: a 31+). For the rest you’re pretty much set. Aim to bring that GPA above a 3.8 by the end of the year. For EC’s you’re a little week when it comes to in school activities (school newspaper, MUN, debate etc.) so try to get a little more involved. I honestly didn’t know AP photography was a thing, but it would be in your best interest to either drop AP photo or drop anatomy and pick up AP Calc. Also try and apply for NHS and become an AP scholar (some more awards). Good luck! </p>
