Id say you have a pretty fair chance! Have you heard about the supposed correlation bwtween getting the FASFA email and getting accepted shortly after?
@eruditehooper i actually did get the email but so many people got it that i’m pretty sure it was either a computer glitch or just sent to everyone ://
Me too! Two of my friends got accepted, and my app is still under review and its making me extremely nervous. Wonder if they’ll make any decisions tomorrow even on Presidents’ Day lol?
Your GPA is probably one big factor that led to the EA deferral, but as a mother of two Lions (Classes of 2016 & 2018), I know that “fit” with the mission is also a big deal and your essays really do matter, as well as ECs that are relevant to the type of institution it is. Although your standardized test scores and AP results are commendable, the institution does not admit solely on GPA and tests as the UCs do. LMU does not require you to be Roman Catholic, but the social justice focus of a Jesuit education is something all students should be well aware of and have articulated in their essays. It is a truly distinct focus that sets apart the 28 Jesuit universities across the country from other universities.
@laplatinum i didn’t focus on anything religious in my application but my supp (the technology one) definitely focused on the importance of community, the individual and critical thinking. i also emailed the school and updated them on my progress (i’m taking a business course at the local community college, i’ve expanded my role in my internship, and i got pretty good grades last semester). i guess now i just have to wait…
This waiting process is antagonizing! I really wonder when the next wave of acceptances will be sent because a couple people I know all got in on on the same day. You guys think they’re doing it by department?
yeah i heard that they go in alphabetical order of majors
i applied for marketing so i’m hoping that’s why i’m still waiting ://
what about you?
don’t know if thats true. a lot of biology majors last year were the last to find out so idk if they do it alphabetically. i think its safe to say that if you don’t hear by early march, you are either waitlisted/denied.
@collegebound1333 i’ve read about people getting acceptances up until the very end of march!
I applied to computer science, I’ve always been kinda confused if that was lumped in with engineering or not. But if I have to wait till the end of March I’ll be sick lol
