Sorry, but as a UF alumni who knows several admissions officers I’m afraid your stats do not stack up to even the lower 25th percentile. When I applied five years ago, I was top 5% at my school with a solid 2350 on the SAT. My extracurricular activities spanned from tutoring underprivileged children, and I was captain of the football, rugby and squash team. Sure my being a second generation immigrant -both my parents being from Columbia- may have disadvantaged my raising, but I think they saw through my story as a battered child (my dad was quiet fond of the drink. I got deferred, but I wrote a three page letter about my case, and the admissions officers thankfully saw through, and I got the acceptance. Greatest four years of my life. Go Gators!
I think you should consider other colleges in Florida such as Valencia. Good Luck!
Your grades are in the middle 50%, but UF’s holistic admissions can seem a bit random at times. 50% of admissions is based on GPA (most important), class rigor, essay and test scores (least important). The other 50% is based on ECs, leadership, volunteer, work, etc.
