My daughter is hoping to attend Florida in Fall 2017 (Illinois resident). She has a 3.7 UW/4.46 W GPA (UF GPA is 4.12). ACT: 26 (Superscore 28) she will retake the ACT in September. She is a member of National Honor Society, Spanish Honor Society; Math Honor Society; English Honor Society; History Honor Society; Future Health Professionals of America; Student Council; Students Against Drunk Driving; 2 year Varsity Captain of her dance team; 4 year Varsity dancer; 7AP classes the rest are all honors classes; peer mentoring, athletic leadership council; over 100 volunteer hours at local hospital. Hoping to major in neuroscience.
UF seems to be a match to high match. Holistic admissions can seem a bit random at times. As you can see below, it would help if she gets her ACT score up by 1 or 2 points (more may help with the OOS merit awards). Note that UF does not super score the ACT.
On the other hand, UF puts more emphasis on GPA and class rigor than test scores, and her GPA/Class Rigor seem to be a match. Her EC’s also seem to be a match, UF likes to see a commitment (in time and effort) to an EC (like 4 years in Dance!) and volunteer work.
