I’m a white female junior almost at the end of the school year, and as summer begins, I’m starting to think more heavily about college applications. I would love to look into schools near cities, and I plan on applying to crazy amounts of scholarships/grants to help cover tuition if it’s very high.
My weighted GPA is a 4.0, UW should be around a 3.7-3.8 (my school doesn’t show us UW, so I’m sort of guessing).
TESTS:
29 on my first ACT, 30 on my second, and I plan on taking it again in the fall.
CLASSES:
I’ve only taken one regular class where I could’ve been in honors, but it’s 12th grade math even though I’m in 11th. I’ve taken honors everything else when offered since 7th grade.
I’m taking AP Physics 1 and AP US History this year, as well as pre-calc, Italian H 103/104 (college credit), art IV (advanced), and English H.
Next year, I am taking AP Gov, AP Lit, AP Drawing, AP Italian, AP Bio, and calculus.
EC’s:
I was inducted into National, Art, Math, English, and World Language Honors Societies. Next year I hopefully will also be inducted into SS HS.
I recently found out I will be president of the Italian club, which means I have a shot at a WLHS as well, I will most likely have a leadership position in the Art Honors Society, and I am going to be a FRESH mentor my senior year.
Outside of school, I’ve been taking art classes for years and years and have begun my portfolio for college.
I also do a lot of community service work.
HOOKS(?):
Since my demographics don’t really help me at all, all I have is that my parents were divorced when I was 10 which put a huge financial strain on my family. My dad also never attended college, however my mom has her masters.
I’ve been looking into an International Relations/Studio Arts double major, or an art minor and double major IR with Italian. (haven’t worked it out yet).
Schools I’m interested in are BU, GW, Northeastern, SUNY New Paltz (more of my safety), but I’m also unsure of where else to look into.
Thank you!!
