What are my chances of getting into the College of Natural Sciences? My intended major is Biology or Human Development and Family Sciences. Also, I will be applying for in-state. Should I even try to apply to the college’s honors programs?
My stats:
Class rank: 46/698 - 6.59% (pretty competitive class)
GPA: 5.3531/6 (weighted), 3.98/4 (unweighted)
AP classes: English Lang, US History, Spanish Lang, Physics 1 (all got credit for). I will take English Lit, Government, Macroeconomics, Biology, Calc AB next school year.
SAT: 1430/1600 composite, 720 Reading&Writing / 710 Math (will retake)
PSAT: 1330/1520, 680 Reading&Writing / 650 Math / SI 201
Extracurriculars: Orchestra librarian (2 years), Orchestra (4 years), Student Council (3 years), National Spanish Honor Society (3 years), Mu Alpha Theta (2 years) which should give me well over 150 volunteer hours.
Achievements: some violin awards and an award every year for having at least a 4.0 out of 6.0 GPA
Work Experience: Volunteering at a hospital for a couple months, around 50 hours.
And does anybody know anything about the Human Development major? Like is it very rigorous, will it still give me the pre-requisites for medical school and will it prepare me well for the MCAT?
