Looking to get into Drexel University or Penn State University Park.
I am looking to be a biology major,
GPA: 3.9 weighted
SAT: 1210(unable to take it again)
Math: 6 years including AP stats and AP calculus
English: 4 years
Science: 4 years including AP biology
Social Studies: 4 years
I live in PA and I cannot afford any financial aid. My parent gets less than 21k dollars per year. She lives off of social security income because of car accident. I need to live on campus.
Drexel: Low match to high safety. 60 to 80%.
Penn State: Match. 40 to 60%.
You seem a bit misinformed about the concept of financial aid. You don’t need to “afford” it; it’s given to you. If your family income is $21,000, then you can easily get help – aid – paying for college.
Ill guess that you get in to drexel, probably around a 70% chance. However, if you look on their net price calculator, your yearly total fees will still be about 35k, which means it’s unlikely you could afford it even if you got in. I’m not sure what your mom’s accident would mean for the aid though, that might mean you got more.
Penn state- Will probably be a little harder for you to get in, but I still think you will. As for aid, they may not be too generous, either, probably around 25-35k/year. However, it will likely cost less than drexel.
Best of luck, but these two places may not give you the aid that you need.
Chance me back?

Sorry about that, didn’t mean to say financial aid. Meant tuition. We should get a good amount of money from Government because my mother was an RN before she was injured. Thank you!
Ah, that’s good to hear. Not the injury, the money. Good luck!
Thank you
