Chance Me

I’ve applied to Umaine, USM, Colby, Bowdoin, and Bates. Probably a strange assortment of schools but that’s what I did. Colby is my top choice. Anyway, I’m probably poorly matched for Colby, Bowdoin, and Bates for many reasons but I figured I would post anyway.
I’m a white female, lower middle class, I go to a very rural, poor, public high school, >100 students. I’m the valedictorian of a class of rougly 20 students. I have a 4.0 and I don’t really know anymore than that as far as my gpa. The only classes I have that really stand out are Honors Geometry and Advanced Biology. I also have 3 years of Spanish and I’m currently in Latin I because my school doesn’t offer Spanish IIII. I took ENG 101, PSY 101, ENG 117, and I’m currently taking PSY 201 at a local university. I only took the SAT, no other tests. I have a 660 V and a 550 M. I know they’re quite low. I didn’t submit scores to Bowdoin or Bates. As for extra curriculars: Cross Country 1,2,3,4, JV Basketball 1,2,3,4, Varsity Basketball 3,4, Softbal 1,2,3,4, Drama 1,2,3,4, Outing Club 2,3,4 Vice President 4, Jazz Band 2,3, NHS 2,3,4, Upward Bound 2,3, maybe 4, Student Government 4 Secretary & Treasurer, Yearbook 4. I’ve completed some volunteer work at a summer lunch program, the local arts center, and the local library, nothing too substantial, I’ve honestly had a hard time finding volunteer work. I worked as a reporter for the local newspaper my freshman year and I’ve worked at a bakery since the summer before my junior year. I was also a state winner for the Horatio Alger Scholarship, I don’t know if that matters. Many eyes saw my essay, I think it was kind of good. Bowdoin’s supplement was probably not very good. My letters were probably good, one was written by my science teacher of 2 years (she taught me biology, advanced biology, and anatomy and physiology, she also runs the outing club). The other was written by my history teacher of 3 years (world history, geography, us history, government), and lastly my Latin I teacher wrote one of my Bates letters, I’ve only had her this year but I think she likes me, I really enjoy her class. I want to double major in theatre and music and minor in spanish. My majors and minors depend on the school, for example Bowdoin doesn’t offer a theatre major only a minor. Anyway that’s a bit of who I am. I don’t even really know why I’m bothering to ask anyone’s opinion because I’m pretty sure I know what’s going to happen but yeah, there you go.

Oh, forgot to mention that I got into Umaine and USM.

Rejected from Colby and Bowdoin, waitlisted at Bates
