Hello I am a senior in hs who applied early action for UM around October 20th. I have a 1270 SAT and a 4.2 GPA. I go to a highly competitive hs that is nationally ranked and #2 in the state of Texas. I am an out of state resident and have taken a total of 9 AP classes including 3 senior year the rest being honors. I have been in the top concert and marching band for 4 years leadership team for 2/4 and am principle flute of the band. I have also been in my nationally awarded yearbook staff for 3 years and have been coverage editor for the past 2. I am in NHS and am involved with multiple clubs. Chances and any idea of when I should hear back?
Which college? Some are a lot more selective than others. Here is a chart showing the 50th percentile for 2019 incoming freshman by college.
Carlson School of Management!
@soptop I would say you have a good chance. Carlson is one of the more competitive schools, so it’s not a guarantee. Good luck!!
Have you looked at your UMN portal? You might have to click on the little arrow above all your updates. Your SAT which translates to a 27 ACT is below their 50 percent range of 29/32 . Carlson is one of the most competitive schools at UMN (top 20 in the country) with a 29 percent acceptance rate, but being from Texas might be an advantage as they try to put together a diverse class. Do you have any hooks?
