i'm planning for a business accounting major, but i know McCombs is a toughy.

if it's not good enough, what sat score/academic things would i need to make it in?

I’m sorry, but 14% and McCombs… I don’t see it happening. UT is obsessed with class rank (for better or worse) and the freshman average rank is 2.2%. The average freshman stats for McCombs are on this link.

This does not come into effect until the fall of 2011, so if you are a senior, the top 10% rule is still in play.

It will depend on how many top 10%ers apply and take up the spots. You better have a darn good SAT score to overcome the 14% rank, and make sure the rest of your app stands out as well - essays, activities, etc.

Just out of curiosity, if you are a senior, why the heck did you wait so late to take the SAT? You have basically given yourself only one chance. You have definitely put yourself at a disadvantage. You may want to consider trying to take the ACT on Oct 24th and maybe even register to take the SAT again in November. UT will use your highest scores, and this would give you something to choose from.
