Yeah - I’d have to agree, that you have an excellent chance - even better if you get your SSAT up just a bit.

Will you be a financial aid applicant? Our middle-to-high school placement counselor advises us that financial aid will cause our daughter to be evaluated in a separate group - since there is only so many kids they can help with financial aid. We’ve been reading a blog from a girl that went through the process last year - and made it in, including financial aid ([BoardingPOV Acceptance and Financial Aid](http://www.boardingpov.com/category/acceptance-and-financial-aid/) ). Hope this helps you too, if it applies.

virginiadad,
thank you for your post.
For the Financial Aid, that is only true for most boarding schools. Phillips Andover has need-blind financial aid. That means that 100% of the students applying for FA will get it. That also implies that gettinf FA will not put you into “a separate group” and it also means that FA will not has any influence on getting accepted. Many other New England Prep Schools however, do not have need-blind FA.

A7X, where are u??? :)

Andover’s need-blind financial policy doesn’t necessarily mean that everyone applying for FA will get it. It means that everyone who has a NEED for FA will get it.

yeah, sorry for the wrong info.
candidate is correcto.

That’s ok. What I really like about Andover’s Need-Blind policy is that it won’t put you in a seperate applicant pool just because you apply for FA. Great for helping relieve some of the economic pressure on the family’s of applicants.

i agree 10char
