Chance my brother

Hey guys. I'm currently a junior at UMich, but I was hoping you could chance my brother for admission. It seems like it was a lot easier to get in when I was applying, so I'm a bit worried for him. He will be devestated if doesn't get in.

Here are his basic stats:

Applying to LSA as a Michigan resident
GPA: 3.8 with 5-6 AP classes
ACT: 30
4 years of high school tennis
Tennis coach for younger kids during summer
200+ volunteer hours
President of Spanish Club

I think he has 4 or 5 B's, but they are all in math classes. I told him I thought this was better than having the B's split among different subjects becasue it just shows he's a bit weaker in math. Do you agree with that?

He's also looking at Wisconsin, so I'd like to get an idea of his chances there too.

Thanks.

IS or OOS?

he should be fine if he applies EA and has some good essays

^ agree…

^double agreeed

He has a pretty good shot if his essays are amazing. Either way, his scores are pretty high, and by just writing those superb essays, he can be guaranteed a spot!! (:

He has a good shot.

A 3.8 UW should be good.

I guess it also depends on how easier IS really is compared to OOS.

I would say match if IS, and if OOS he just needs some great essays and he’ll be fine.

I’m instate and got in with a 3.89 (3.8 when applied) and a 29 act, but I spent months on my essays.

Since he is IS and has taken a decent course load, I would say match.
