Average UC capped weighted GPA for 6 out of the 9 campuses are 4.0+.
UC’s tend to be very GPA focused. Her SAT is within range for all the schools however on the lower end so these schools will be Reach to High Reach based on GPA.
College applications are not all about GPA and test scores, but academics are the first line in determining if an applicant can make the cut.
What are the other schools on her list? Even Mid-tier UC’s are not guaranteed. Hopefully these are her Reach schools and she has some Target and Safety schools already.
For Berkeley it’s going to be a low chance, probably 5%. Average UC capped GPA is 4.23 and median SAT I believe is around 1470. Can’t hurt to try though.
Yeh, I would apply to UCs. It is probably worth applying to Berkeley and UCLA, but you have a better chance at lesser ones. If cost is a big issue for whatever reason, you can apply to similar level OOS or private schools.
I agree with applying to a variety of UC’s . Can also consider Barrett Honors College at Arizona State U. They have a respectable psych program and do lots of interdisciplinary stuff.
