My daughter is applying to several CSU’s Her EI is 4460. That assumes the CSU’s superscore, as her SAT math score fluctuated over three tests. Her weighted GPA is 4.05. Here’s my problem–she knows that Bio is very impacted at all CSU, especially SDSU, but I’m having a had time convincing her to apply for alternative (but related) science majors like Biotech, Biochem, Microbiology, Enviro Science, Any suggestions? It looks to me like a risky deal to apply as Bio for these campuses.
One should always choose to go into their desired major, no matter what. You don’t want to go to college worrying about transferring to the better major, seriously.
I honestly think your daughter will have a good shot at all of the colleges you mentioned besides San Diego State.
In fact, your daughter should have guaranteed admission to Chico State, according to here: https://www.calstate.edu/sas/documents/ImpactedProgramsMatrix.pdf
My crystal ball says she’ll get into all of them. Why not UCSC and UCR?
Thanks. She’s going to apply to both of them, hopefully today.
