<p>I am concerned for my best friend since she applied to a bunch of Ivies. So i'm just curious as to her chances. I know she applied to yale, swarthmore, duke, chapel hill, and berkley I think. Not sure of what else, but she applied to 8 schools. She's interesting in engineering and lives in North Carolina.</p>

<p>She's an african american female. Her GPA unweighted is around a 3.6, I think? She got a 2100(something) on the SAT and has gotten in the lowspring 700ishspring range for SATII. She has great extracurriculars(and several leadership positions) also and is a really great writer(I think so, anyways).</p>

<p>So yeah. What are her chances for top schools? One negative thing is that she's a little on the quiet side. I think that being a minority will help her out.</p>

<p>I’d say she has a good shot at all of those schools because of her URM status, except Yale. GPA is weak.</p>

<p>Her GPA may be higher. She gets mostly a’s but she’s gotten a couple b’s and a c I think.</p>
