Chance of acceptance (Georgetown, Northwestern, Johns Hopkins, Emory, CMU, Wash U)

I'm a sophomore student currently attending University of Illinois with GPA of around 3.7 (out of 4.0).
My SATs were a little above 2100 (R: 670? W: 700? Math 780?) and I had pretty decent extracurricular activities.
I'm also an international student and earned 3.6/4.0 (in terms of GPA) during my high school years. Can anyone tell me what would be my chance of being accepted by any of those colleges ?
I'm kind of concerned with my GPA being too low.
(Georgetown, Northwestern, Johns Hopkins, Emory, CMU, Wash U in St.Louis)

Georgetown and Northwestern are iffy. If you have solid recs and ecs you will have a decent chance at the other schools. Good luck! :D

Thanks! I hope i can make it :<

With your GPA, G’Town, Northwestern, and JHU are reaches. The others, you could have a chance.

Still, though, apply to all of them. Write good essays and get recs, ECs, etc.

Best of luck.

Shyyboy, we have a pretty alike stats. I will also apply to JHU and Emory. So why not just saying good luck to both of us:p

Actually best of luck buddy!

wish u good luck superooobo!
i was also thinking of applying to Cornell ILR and U Penn too, just in case you know… ;>
Do you guys have any thoughts about U Penn or ILR school?

I would say out at all except maybe Emory. Your high school stats were well below most of these schools, so one semester with a GPA that’s probably lower than their average transfer GPA does not look promising. Even if you had managed to get a 4.0 your first semester, you’d still probably only have good chances at Emory.

I’m actually applying as a junior:> does my college GPA of 3.7 look that low ? and I also heard that my high school records are not too much important when i am applying as a junior.
