Return from last year’s closed thread for more detail:
Thanks for your kind words. ASU accepted him with a 12k scholarship and into Barrett Honor, but the tuition is still higher than the UCs. This week, SJSU and CSULB gave us a chance to stay closer to home.
After UC released 2022 student undergraduate admission summary, we noticed our DS high school students admission rates are as follow:
UCB 2021 27% to 2022 13%
UCD 2021 45% to 2022 31%
UCI 2021 29% to 2022 26%
UCLA 2021 11% to 2022 5%
UCSD 2021 38% to 2022 20%
UCSB 2022 13%
UCSC 2021 87% to 2022 48%
My boy got the acceptance email this afternoon from UCSC - his first match UC school acceptance - Feeling energized. His major is Biomolecular Engineering and Bioinformatics. We are from the CA Central Valley.
3/13 update:
On 2/28, DS23 received an email invitation to UCSC College Scholars Program (CSP). The UCSC website says each year about 250 new frosh join the CSP program. No scholarship was mentioned.
On 3/10, DS23 received UC Davis admission to their BioChemical Engineering major. Each year they seem to graduate only about 15 seniors in this major. This one is close to home. We live in the Central Valley. So we are ecstatic about the UCD admission.
Also, we did not receive CPSLO admission when they rolled out their decisions on 3/10 so we won’t expect an acceptance from CPSLO.
We have scheduled college walking tours on 3/15 to UCSC and 3/16 to UCD to check them out.
Well, the result of last application came out today. Here are the result

UCB - BioEngineering (accepted)

Looking forward to the new 4 year journey. Thanks everyone from this CC forum support and knowledge. Sincerely wish good luck to everyone and your child to find their fit college.
