Chance, please!

I'm really nervous about getting into NYU!

White female from the most prestigious high school in Indiana.
We have the highest graduation rate in the state and send over 95% of students to their first choice college, including several to Stanford, Yale, and Harvard each year, from a graduating class of less than 100.

EC:
Played volleyball freshman and sophomore year. Freshman and JV team captain.
Environmental Club. Three years. Vice President.
Art Publication. Two years. Award winning.
*My EC's are so scarce because I've worked 30 hours a week since sophomore year.

I applied to all as an Art History major and wrote an essay with several art references. The AP English teacher said it was unique and brilliant.

I'm an AP Scholar, have two gold medals from the National Latin Exam, and was the alternate for the IU Honors Study Abroad program.

NYU is my first choice now and I can't wait to find out!

if i were nyu, i would let you in.

For some unknown reason, that was very comforting.

Good luck! The Art History department is amazing. Professors Broderick and Krinsky are excellent.

I think your chances are good; you clearly have a passion and have persued it.

I'm mainly worried about the GPA. It's pretty low, but my school just started weighting this year and its policy is really questionable. They don't tell us how much of a weight each class carries, if they're counting all past years or just this one, if they're sending weighted or unweighted scores...

i would think its a reach. you have passion. but your gpa is pretty modest. still, hope for the best :)

Ouch. I hate that word, "modest." I'm hoping that they'll keep in mind the reputation of my school, the AP classes, the fact that my school just started weighting this year, and that they only offer +.1 for an AP, as opposed to some schools that offer +.2.
