Chance threads are pointless.

I made a chance thread about applying ED to rice, and got over 50 replies in a row saying that i was "in for sure". I was deferred.

Chance threads are really just for psychological reasons, they by no means guarantee anyone will get admitted. You have to take them with a grain of salt.

Taking 50 replies of “Youre in, 100% absolutely in.” In a row with a grain of salt? I was deferred.

Umm I hope you know that the people chancing you aren’t admission officers. There is no way of knowing for sure if you’ll get into a school, and at least you weren’t rejected.

Agree with Joisonfire, but I am sure you probably to qualify for Rice in your resume. There is a significant difference between being qualified for Rice and Rice meeting the quota for EA applicants to fill spots. The abundance of people who’s application/grade scores/ec’s are as good as yours made it a hard decision on them. At least you still have a chance being deferred unlike me on my favorite school!
