Heey my fellows, like everyone in this forum I want to know my chances to specific universities. My dream university is MIT. This is something like my resume:

Sat subjects: math2 800; physics 800
Gpa: 4.0 unweighted
Awards: mostly Kazakh awards (national level)
Valedictorian

Cross country;
Researches;

Job experience: math tutor; translator
Gender: Male

Country: Kazakhstan. I don't know being from country of 3rd world will give me some advantage? I know that it's very difficult for international students ( acceptance is less than 4%) but I'll be glad to read some of your advices. Please don't answer like " nobody has a real chance" and so on. I'll be grateful if you could advice me to improve to be decent applicant.

My top choices are:
MIT
Amherst
Stanford
Berkeley
Caltech
Cornell
Purdue

Yes, it’s true that the stakes are higher for international applicants (although I’m not sure how many Kazakhs apply to these top colleges), but I have faith that you’ll get into at least a few, if not most, of the schools you’re interested in, based on your academic record and ECs.

My advice:
-I’d recommend that you retake the SAT and shoot for at least 2300, just to give you an extra boost.
-Also, can you expand on your experiences with cross country and research? How long have you been involved in cross country, and how passionate are you about it? What kind of research have you done?
-Have you taken AP/IB classes? If not, make sure to take some next year (unless they aren’t available at your school), and regardless, continue taking rigorous courses.

Based on what you’ve presented about yourself, here is my breakdown for you:
MIT–reach
Caltech–reach
Stanford–reach
Amherst–reach
Cornell–low reach
Berkeley–low reach/high match
Purdue–safety/low match

Good luck! :)

Thebeatlestoday, thank you very very much for your feedback, I appreciate it.
Unfortunately in my country we don’t have opportunity to study AP/ IB classes.
There a some applicants in my country who want to study in US. (50-60)
Running and researching are my passion) I’ve done reasearches about computer structure and so on (related to computer science)
Yes, I need to increase my SAT score :)

What is your SAT breakdown?

I wrote only 1 time. I’m planning to write in october and november

Bump bump hey guys come on, will chance back

I think that you are competitive and it is certainly worth it to apply!
