<p>Just so that you know, UW does not accept letters of rec unless you’re petitioning (which you wouldn’t do unless you were waitlisted or denied) or applying to their honors program.</p>

<p>Also, you may want to rethink your hook being of Hispanic decsent (as colleges are legally not allowed to admit based on race). You can use your ethnicity to help show your diversity through different experiences you’ve had, but that is slightly different than what you said. </p>

<p>I would recommend trying to improve your SAT score a bit, but really the most important part of your application will be the essays you write.</p>

<p>It helps to know if you’re in state or out of state. Also to add onto the race bit, UW personally does not admit people based on race like some colleges. They do a HOLISTIC review which means they look at everything. Your GPA, SAT/ACT, extracurriculars, essays, etc. I also stress the essays because they paint a “picture” of who you are as a person.</p>
