Chance?

Well, I'm a sophomore in highschool. My dream is to go to Notre Dame, but again, that's a dream for me. This year I finally got the meaning of "school". I realized what it takes to study and work hard. Freshman year was a joke to me, so that I may be screwed for.

I am not a legacy, but my aunt, uncle, uncle, great-uncle, three cousins, attended Notre Dame. And my sister is now at St. Mary's (I don't know if that would help whatsoever).

My GPA is around a 3.9, but now I'm really understanding the meaning of working hard so I believe next semester it will be above a 4.0 W, hopefully!

The clubs at my school are kind of stupid, I am in a few but otherwise I don't get the point of them. Starting next year though, I will just join most of them just to have EC on my application.

I row. Yes, rowing is a sport and Notre Dame has a varsity womens rowing team, so I could get a scholarship for that, possibly. Also, I swim for my highschool right now. I have done a sport every season in highschool, as rowing and swimming will be a continuance in my highschool career.

So, I don't know about this. If I didn't get into Notre Dame (very likely), I would go to St. Mary's because my sister loves it and spends all her time at Notre Dame.

If anyone could give me feedback that would be great...I guess what I'm worried about is that I haven't done nearly an outstanding job yet, and I'm not sure if theres a chance at all.

anyonee please?

I'm not sure how much your freshman grades will affect you, but since you have an upward trend you should be alright, but make sure you keep your gpa up during jr/sr years too.

my regrets are that my EC's aren't too strong, so try to find a couple things that you're passionate about (sounds like rowing for you) and put a lot of time and effort into them.

definitely start your essays early so you have plenty of time to make them strong and make sure to incorporate your passions into them.

just get a high gpa, solid act/sat scores, and be well-rounded with strong essays and you will be very competitive

Thanks! I know a lot of things will happen my junior and sr. year..with rowing and i'll be able to go on service trips to New Orleans and other good stuff.
