Chancellor scholarship 2017

@perch1024 - Can you share what the first interview date is?

I can’t . No invite here

@1art1science The first interview date is February 10. They are offered every Monday and Friday until April 14.

@JemmaSimmons When did you submit your application, if you don’t mind me asking?

@velmah My application to Pitt was sent in September, and my Chancellor’s app was due in late November.

I got an e-mail about 8 days ago that my application was completed. Just waiting on my decision I guess now. I"m not sure how long it takes for them to decide/review an application.

@biologylover, It typically takes 2-4 weeks for us to process everything and make an admissions decision. Best of luck!

A Pitt Admissions Staffer

Just received my “thanks but no thanks” letter in the mail in MA, completed scholarship application in mid November. Good luck to those still in the running!

Got the rejection letter in the mail today, submitted it in mid-December.

Thanks for sharing, @sbmry1 and @picuberoot. Waiting since November for any news, and it’s probably for a letter in the mail it would seem.

Letter in mail in SC today as well. Pitt has been very generous and D and I are looking forward to seeing it next month.

We’re in the same boat, @1art1science, very appreciative of Pitt’s generosity and excited to see the school. It will be good to confirm that we don’t need to coordinate with an interview schedule. Good luck to the CC applicants moving forward in the process!

So has everyone granted an interview already been notified? There were only a few posters here who got the interview email

No, I don’t think everyone has been notified. However, my son’s scholarships application was submitted in the same time frame as the two who received emails on Friday (late Novemebr). I am just assuming that he was processed in the same batch and didn’t make the cut.

Just today DD got an email confirming that her application file was complete. We had a snafu where one of the letters of recommendation had not been received. We called early January as it had already been several weeks since we thought the file was complete but it still said Awaiting Letters and Transcript, so we emailed to let them know as far as we knew everything had been sent. We asked if Pitt would check on her paperwork. They let us know one letter had not been received. That teacher was mortified as she had mailed the letter the week we had requested it. She then emailed Pitt her letter and also followed up with a new form and letter in the snail mail. We were assured by Pitt that this snafu would not reflect badly and that they were still in the review process. That was a few weeks ago. So it took until today for them to update the file as complete. It may very well be followed up with a thanks, but no thanks letter, but we’ll see. I figure DD has to have some kind of ceiling! A full-tuition scholarship is more than we dreamed of. LOL.

Good luck to all!

I just got my invitation to interview this morning. So it seems that the emails are going out on a rolling basis.

@echoxx, Congrats and thanks for the info. Would you mind sharing when you put in your scholarship application?

Son got an e-mail today with a financial aid offer (matching the original scholarship offer from the letter in October) but still nothing in the mail about the Chancellor’s. Did those of you who got the letter in the mail also get this e-mail? @hailtopitt1787 is this a sign that the Chancellor’s process is over for him?

@CaveMom thank you! I submitted the scholarship application about 3 weeks ago (I believe it was Jan 10th). I applied to Pitt in early December, also.

@CaveMom …no, I wouldn’t think that means Chancellor’s is over for your son.

D received an interview invite. When I checked her financial aid portal today there is the original academic scholarship she was offered, the minimal loan amount and nothing else. The portal will not reflect Chancellor’s status at all until it is awarded (or not awarded) I imagine!

Hang in there. This is SO hard!
