Whatever. We haven’t heard anything about interviews yet either. From past years, it looks like it was early-mid January that people began to hear.

I just checked last year’s chancellor’s scholarship thread, and it seems that applicants began to hear back on January 4…should be soon guys!

@hgblue - thanks for the info. i’m checking email constantly - no news yet (at least no bad news via snail mail either). good luck to all

Madame - You are right, I am. That means I know quite a bit about the school, which allows me to say with confidence your comment was completely wrong. Back it up, if you can. I was very specific in my explanation, you have given nothing. Tell us exactly how USNWR has given Tulane a pass.

Burghmom3, hgblue, quilll, and TitanMom16: My daughter has not yet heard back either. Keeping fingers crossed. And I don’t care about Tulane and its rankings - this is a thread for potential Pitt students who have applied for a specific scholarship and are anxiously awaiting news…

^Joining you in waiting. How are kids notified one way or the other?

I believe that they are notified first by email (and then followed up with a letter) if they are chosen to interview. If they are not chosen to interview, they are notified by snail mail (letter) that they didn’t make it on to the interview round.

Don’t you wish there was an “ignore” setting?

Madame, you are the one that posted misinformation. If correcting that (which IMO requires backup, not just a statement with no proof, as you did) takes up space, so be it. If this was supposed to just be about Pitt, then you and the others should not have been posting misinformation about Tulane in the first place, and I never would have found the thread most likely. However, since there is a fair amount of overlap in students interested in both schools, it is important to set the record straight, even if it is a Pitt thread. It is not only the OP that reads these.

You can continue to dodge the fact that you have no support for your statement, no problem. If you don’t want to take up space here, PM me with your proof. I won’t hold my breath waiting for it.

Quilll, there is an ignore feature on this site. Go to “My Control Panel” and click Edit Ignore Options or something like that.

I, however, as a truely shameless Pitt promoter always enjoy fallenchemist’s posts. He (she?) never hides the fact that he is a Tulane promoter.

As a Dad with a D who has been accepted to both PITT and Tulane, I have been following fallenchemists posts for quite some time in the Tulane forum. His posts are typically very thoughtful and I’ve appreciated his insight into Tulane and yes he is definitely is an advocate for Tulane. Like most people on CC, I am searching for accurate information on all of the schools that my D is interested in. Both PITT and Tulane are towards the top of my daughters list so now it’s just a matter of waiting for the scholarship decisions!

OK if I see the word Tulane on this thread one more time I think my head is going to explode. Really, folks I’m sure it’s a wonderful school…BUT THIS IS NOT THE THREAD TO TALK ABOUT IT!

Thanks mdmom, that’s nifty. And to clarify, I have no real problem with fallen chemist, and I adore the username, although I wish he would not feel the need to defend Tulane so ardently, at least not here. It’s just kinda irrelevant to this conversation, iykwim.

I cannot understand how anyone can say that Tulane doesn’t belong in this discussion. worried mom, who first posted at #7, brought it up first in post #15 comparing the scholarships at Pitt and Tulane. Tulane was then also mentioned (before Madame started her muckraking in post#28) in post #'s 19, 20, 21, and 23. quakerstake, in post #'s 30 and 33, innocently but incorrectly made erroneous statements about Tulane, while Madame made baseless, meanspirited comments about the school. Given that Tulane was being compared to Pitt in the spirit of the thread prior post #28 (and threads do take on lives of their own), I see nothing wrong with correcting misinformation (as opposed to defending Tulane, at least in this case) so the comparisons are more accurate. If that represents “having a temper”, then so be it.

how amusing you would consider ignoring fallenchemist, a clearly informed and articulate poster, as opposed to madame, a known instigator with an attitude problem. as a student accepted to both pitt and tulane, i find fallenchemist’s comments highly relevant.

for the record, i ignored madame weeks ago–i take every opportunity to reduce negativity in my life when it is within my control–and she’s bad news no matter where she chooses to post.

Ciaobella, I considered no such thing. Totally agree with your assessment and actions. But now I’m getting annoyingly off topic, so will cease discussing fallen chemist, his antagonist and that school in New Orleans. I’ll let you folks know when and if we hear anything about the Chancellor’s. Ciao!

Very bad of me not to say: Best of luck to all those waiting to hear about the Chancellor’s!!

Got my letter today; no interview. Oh well…I’m more enthusiastic about the guaranteed med program so I hope that works out!

@hgblue

When did you submit your application for the scholarship?

I received notification of my candidacy on Nov. 12th, so my app was postmarked on the 26th.
