scholarship letter is final?

I apologize as this was posted accidentally as a reply in one of the other threads. I meant it to be a unique thread on its own.

If one receives a merit scholarship award letter at this time ($5K,for example), and it does not mention anything about the Chancellor scholarship, does this mean

  1. The scholarship amount ($5K) is the final amount, and it will not be potentially "increased" in a subsequent letter
  2. He/she is definitely out of the Chancellor scholarship running

I am hoping for an answer from @hailtopitt1787 or someone with direct knowledge. I realize in years past, this has been the case, but maybe things are different

Following.

Hello! If you are a Chancellor’s Scholarship nominee, it should say so in your scholarship letter.

If you receive a better scholarship making your net COA better at a similarly ranked college - the merit amount may be reconsidered by financial aid - you need evidence and provide that info to finaid.
