Congrats to your son! The full tuition scholarship is really wonderful. It is such a relief to see the tuition bill with that huge credit on it every semester. I will be forever grateful to Pitt for allowing my daughter to attend. Best of luck to all those still waiting!

Yes, Full Tuition is awesome!

My son is a freshman and is loving the school and the city. He has long since forgiven me for “shoving him” into Pitt.

BUMMER! DD received her “thanks but no thanks” letter today for the Chancellor’s scholarship. I was hoping all of those letters had gone out earlier! The competition of even an interview this year must be intense. She has a 4.0 UW GPA, is a NMSF, and has a 34 ACT. At least she still has her Presidential Scholarship however without the Chancellor’s I’m not sure that PITT will remain at the top of her list. She’s gotten some other nice NMSF scholarship offers. Hope to hear that she made finalist later this week. Good luck to everyone who is still waiting to hear back!

TitanMom16, which date did your son submit the Chancellor’s application? I want to estimate when my S should get response.

His package was delivered via Fed Ex on 12/9. Best of luck!

TitanMom16, thank you for the info. Congratulation to your son!

I just got the invitation email to interview for the Chancellor’s scholarship! Very excited!! My chancellor’s app/essays were due early January.

What I’ve heard regarding number of invites and number of recipients:
I’ve been told that 100 people are invited to interview and that 10-12 people end up going to UPitt with the scholarship.

Good luck to all of those who applied, I hope to see some of you there!

Good luck, Regen! Congrats

I just called the honor college this morning, a staff told me they are going to send out the letters no later than tomorrow, the same for rejections. We all should get the results by mail soon. I am just wondering if it’s by regular mail or express, forgot to ask.

Has anyone else heard???

Just called Honor’s College. A gentleman told me that notices (either invitation or declination) are being sent out last week and this week. Cross your fingers if you have not received the mail yet.
If you were selected for interview, you would be given a range of dates from last week of March to first week of April to choose from.
Good luck everyone!

Anybody has a clue what kind of questions are asked at the interview? From the 2009 thread I think they grill you about your majors and other interests.

Has anyone received their invitation to interview yet? Does anyone know if they also contact you to tell you that you are not invited for an interview?

They notify you either way, to interview or not.

Did anyone hear if they were selected for the full ride yet, or know when/how they would be notified after the Chancellor’s interview?
