Chancellor's Welcome Reception and Vice Chancellor Harry Le Grande Welcome Reception

<p>Hello,</p>

<p>I'm a recently admitted transfer student, and was looking for a little more info on these two welcome receptions. Do parents usually attend with their students? I was going to bring my mom but I wanted to make sure parents actually come to these things. Also, can anyone explain what the differences are between the two welcome receptions? The Vice Chancellor one states,</p>

<p>"You are among a select group of students who have the opportunity to meet current students, Berkeley faculty and key members of the campus community who will be happy to speak with you individually and answer any questions you may have about being a student at Berkeley."</p>

<p>Does this mean not everyone gets an invite? Hoping someone can clear this up! Thank you!</p>

<p>Ok so I just got off the phone with a student at Berkeley who called about these events. He said the Vice Chancellor’s reception was cool and the Chancellor’s reception was “whack.” He also advised I come up to Cal by myself. Anyone else have any thoughts/input? They’d be greatly appreciated. Thanks</p>
