Chances+A Few questions

First off, what do you think my chances are?

GPA- 3.24/4.6
Rank- Third fifth of around 530
Sports- Baseball, Volleyball, Soccer (Intramural/club)
Jewish

SATs- 1710/2400 1140/1600 M-620 R-520 W-570

ACT- 25 Composite, M-27 R-22 E-27 S-23 W-26 (8 on essay)

I have been a camp counselor for 2 years, 40+ hours a week
I work at my parents office on occassion
A few Ec's/volunteer/charity work

NROTC/AROTC Scholarship candidate.

Second, I see a lot of people saying that admissiom to this school requires GPAs of like, 3/8+ and SaT of 1900+, but on some statistic sites and books, it says:

Test Name High Low Avg.
ACT Combined: 30 24 27
ACT English: 29 24 26
ACT Math: 30 23 26
ACT Reading:
ACT Science:
SAT Combined: 1940 1610 1775
SAT I Math: 670 560 615
SAT I Critical Reading: 630 520 575

Are these right, accurate, or completely wrong?

Apply early and choose a major that won’t be as selective, right now I’d say you’re really really pushing it and I would try to get to at least 1200 or a 27.

Blinn team isn’t a bad route if you get offered that, or even just going to Blinn to start off if you’re really looking to become an Aggie.

Since you were in ROTC are you planning on joining the corp or no?

If you go for the corps then you will have a fairly good chance. However, without the corps, it will be extremely difficult to be admitted.

Rank isn’t good and test scores are a little below average. Decent chances if you were to do Corps.

I did not do JROTC.

I am applying, and currently waiting to hear if I have been selected into the NROTC program. I should hear by September since I made the first selection board.

For the AROTC, I still have a few more things to finish before I complete my application.

Also, if I get the NROTC or AROTC scholarship, then I will be joining the corps.

cooper1234: Including Service Academies, how many colleges are you applying?

Five
Penn state, Purdue, Rutgers, Florida, and Annapolis

I might apply to A&M only if I don’t get Penn State or Purdue n the scholarship selection.

My stats were significantly better than yours and i was given blinn team. 1890 on the SAT 3.5 GPA. Blinn Team is horrible and i will be transferring to UT for fall 2011. They say Blinn Team was made for students to have a university experience but i spend half my day driving from A&M to Blinn and im at Blinn for the majority of the day. I don’t see the university experience. Do not do Blinn Team if i were you.
