Chances After Being Deferred?

I am a high school senior and I got deferred from DGS at UIUC.
My GPA wasn't that great. (2.9) Due to a bad start freshmen year at a Catholic School, but it improved significantly.
2 AP courses
1 Honors level course in Spanish III
3 College courses at the local community college
24 ACT
Stellar essays
VP of School poetry club, Speech Team, Scholastic bowl and a ridiculous amount of time doing community service in my church choir
If it matters I am a first generation African American female. My parents are immigrants

Looking at other people's credentials, I'm a bit worried about my chances of acceptance, but I love this school too much to give up hope.
Does anyone know what percent of deferred applicants usually get accepted into UIUC? And how many of those deferred applicants applied to competitive programs like Engineering and Business?

I remember reading somewhere on UIUC’s site that 50%+ of deferred applicants get into either their major or DGS. Your stats are a bit low, but you definitely have some hooks, and since they haven’t denied you yet, you still have a chance.

Thanks. Is there anyone else in the same situation as me that got either accepted or denied from UIllinois?

Your GPA is very low. But I think you should be fine.

I’m praying that they see that I’ve improved. I did terrible my Freshmen year which took a toll on my GPA. This is unweighted by the way…Has anyone ever heard of someone below a 3.0 getting into UIUC?

What’s your weighted?

My school doesn’t give out weighted GPAs. My class rank is within the top 24% though.

Are you an URM student?
