Tech isn’t a safety for anyone. Two years ago, someone posted on here very upset that he was rejected with a 2350 SAT / 4.0 UWGPA was rejected.

Probably because they had no EC’s or their essay was terrible. It’s not all about the numbers, even though they are more important.

The deffered form is out today. Any help you guys can give? or any recommendations? Help appreciated

You’ll get accepted. However, if by some chance you don’t, you will definitely get the summer session or waitlisted. Most of the people who post their stats on this forum are stretching the truth. I mean I know there is a lot people who have a great transcripts and everything, but apparently everyone on here has a 2300 SAT and 4.0 GPA. So do not get discouraged when you read the people’s stats because they might not be true. You’re stats are good, and your EC’s will pull you through.

I do appreciate the boost of confidence but with what certainty can you say this? How can you back up these claims? My GPA and SAT Math are below average. I’m nothing “special”, in fact I’m just another average student. Can you explain some reason for why you’re so sure I’ll get in?

Your SAT scores are acceptable for tech. You’re gpa is low, but that’s not the only deciding factor. You’re essays are good right? You have unique ec’s and your class rigor was exptional. Despite the low gpa and low sat math score, youre pretty well rounded. I was accepted to tech with a 3.4 gpa and 27 act last year. I had more ec’s than you, and just as much ap, college, and honors classes if not more. My essays were fine, but nothing great. You SAT is much higher than my act score if you converted it. It all depends! I’ve heard of people getting wait listed with 3.0 gpa’s and 23 acts. Well rounded people have a better chance than someone who has great grades but never did anything outside of class.

My essays were great I think. The longer one was about the neighborhood I grew up in. I chose the one I moved to after my mother died. It was about the friends I made who helped me get over my grief and the hobbies and passions I discovered as I grew up there. And I would say my EC’s are good. I only have like one “traditional” one…which I’m very dedicated to (see above posts). But in addition I’ve taught myself how to play guitar, to program, I work part time, and I have 200+ hours community service w/ my church. So yea I do have a 3.3 UW and a 1330/1980 SAT but I am very well rounded too. I’m hoping that carries me through b/c my numbers are just average. Thanks for your replies btw.
