Chances again (HYPS)

Ok il keep this short. I'm an int'l student, URM (black african)

SAT I - 2150 (780M, 720W, 650V)
SAT II - not taken any yet but i expect all to be 700+ if not 750+

my ec's which i cant be bothered to write down should be fine judging by the comments about other people's on this board.

recs should be v good, and lets just pretend my essay is fine as well.

My question is, will those SAT I scores be enough for me to be a competitive applicant at HYPS or should i retake them with the SAT IIs. (that verbal score especially hurts my eyes)

Thanks in advance

i don't think ur a URM if ur not an African American I'm really sure. But can't say anyhting since there's no mention of ur Ecs, school environment, and GPA.

As i'm in the UK, theres no class ranking, if there was, i'd be 1st/2nd out of about 300. My school itself has a good reputation but not amazing, though i doubt admission officers would know or care much. No GPA over here. I take some of the hardest courses over here (its A-levels btw) and i'm heading for maximum grades.
I don't think a lot of this is relevant however because from what i gather i cant trade my grades from here. All i need to worry about are SATs, ECs and essays. So assume the last two are good enough

Since ur in the UK, u have an advantage automatically. The SAT's aren't great, but if ur EC's are up to snuff, you should be fine. Make sure to get high SAT II's, and keep ur grades up. Also, show a lot of passion in your essays, that's key.
GL with it.

sorry but why do i hav an advantage being from the uk?

As an International applicant from an english speaking country, I would take the SATI again to improve your verbal score. While being an AA still provides diversity and that's a tip, you don't get the same URM break an American black will get. Competition at the very top schools is so stiff for Internationals so everything counts.

You should also be applying to some schools a tier below these.
