I'd like to know my chances for Penn State and Pitt. I'd also like some chances for any other schools I should be considering. I like art and drama and the humanities (want to be an archaeologist) and I don't really care whether it's urban or rural or an LAC or university. It just needs to be affordable and in or near PA.

Also, should I send in a portfolio of artwork even if I don't plan to be an art major? I've been playing guitar for six years. Does that count as an extracurricular? Is it tough to get into ROTC once you start school? Finally, does applying for financial aide or putting undecided down on an application hurt my chances?

To get into Swat, the OP would have to be a passion admit. Chances are the OP gets really high humanity grades with poor math and science grades. If the 3.3 were B+'s and A-'s he'd have a reasonable shot at Swat. You should get into Pitt and PSU. I'd raise your SAT score and try UPenn and Swat as extreme reaches.

You can take ROTC classes by signing up for them, however, scholarships through ROTC are more competitive. Most services look for good math and science scores, so you should try to do well in those areas (I'm guessing they are not your strong points by your stats).

So what everyone is saying that PSU and Pitt are pretty much definite acceptances and that I should set my sights a little higher? I've been beating myself up so much over this that I didn't think I'd even get into either. Thanks a lot.
