chances and advice

Elite private school in upstate NY

3.0/4 rank is 76/112 (really bad, I know. First quarter of senior year, however, I've received straight A's. (Lowest grade was a 95 in calculus bc) By the end of the semester, I should be top half)

SAT: 1850 [650/550/650]

(retaking in December, I received a 2080 on my latest practice test. I've been working really really hard)

I will be able to raise my math to a 650, and the CR and W to low to mid 700s. I took this test dry in March, and up until recently my top choices for college were suny geneseo and New Paltz After NYU became a consideration, I decided to get to work, and have been pleasantly surprised with my results. I'm not naturally smart, but when I work hard, I get results.

Essays:
Strong. Writing is my strong suit. I'd like to go to NYU to pursue a writing-focused major. I love Philosophy and Literature.

Recs:
Average, I'd suppose. I'm obviously one of the stupider kids in a school of superstars.

Will alot of your classmates apply to NYU? That could hurt you. Upward trends are also good. Would have liked to see upward trend for more than one semester though. Good Luck.

lol ya

this is just such an awkward profile

your AP scores are solid, your SAT is fine, but then you aren't even ranked in the top half of your class ***!!!
