Chances as a senior in andover/exeter??

<p>So basically I'm from Albania (Europe) 17 years old and in 11th grade. I'm applying for senior year.
All my grades have always been 10 (the highest grade in my country)
I play guitar for 2 years now and im in the school's quire.
I'm in the schools basketball team and I've been in a regional team before.
I have participated in many regional and national math olympiads since the 1st grade and been awarded with 1st,,2nd or 3rd place.
I have a bronze medal from an international competition in turkey for a project in biology and also a certificate as a junior scientist from intel n a science fair
I'm activist in european youth parliament and also in my country's youth parliament as well as a volunteer in an org here in my country.
I have been awarded with many certificates from my school including an IQ competition in which I won 1st place from all the students of the school (no matter their age)
I'm very good at sketching as an architect wannabe :P
I'm very sporty and energetic and I'm a fast learner so I dont waste time reading things over and over. I like reading books and good music and my fave subjects are maths and physics.
TOEFL scores: 107/120
SAT scores: havent taken the SAT yet but I'm expecting around 2000 points from the practice test I've taken
Recommendations are gonna be pretty good as I get along with my teachers pretty well.
So what are my chances? and how can I improve them?</p>

<p>Oh and I’ve also taken AP math last year and this year and Physics AP this year (only these science AP courses are offered in my school)</p>

<p>The question you should be asking yourself is not: what are are my chances for getting admitted as a senior to andover/exeter?<br>
but: why would I want to change school in the final year? </p>

<p>If you plan to attend university in the U.S., senior year is very, very late to be changing schools. If you plan to attend university in the home country, don’t you need to prepare for your country’s univ entry exams?</p>

<p>Well I’m aiming for MIT so I thought I needed to do something more than what I am actually doing. And I can’t deny the school I attend is really good but I feel like it doesn’t offer me the right courses and activities so I can express myself entirely.
Hmm I’ve thought about changing school earlier but I can’t really afford going to private expensive schools and I didn’t know there were need-blind schools until a relative of mine who lives in US told me. So basically I have been preparing all through 10th grade so I can apply this year.</p>

<p>Going to schools like Andover/Exeter will not guarantee you a spot in MIT. In fact, it may hurt your chances if you do not end up graduating at the top of the class. These schools are VERY academically intense. The odds are not in your favor to enter in Senior year and perform well vs. the other kids who have acclimated to the school’s rigors over the course of the previous 2-3 years. Plus these kids have cultivated relationships with their advisors & teachers who will be writing recommendations for them for their college applications. You will be at a severe competitive disadvantage w only a few months there, because you will be compared to the other students there.</p>

<p>Financial aid for int’l students is generally very limited, need blind-or not.</p>

<p>I’ve considered all of the above and I’m still willing to apply into these schools because even if they don’t guarantee me a spot in MIT, at least they have something more to offer me in comparison to my actual school. Academic intensity isn’t exactly a problem for me as I’m very competitive and I like to learn all the time. Teachers’ recommendations won’t be a problem either if everything goes right because I really know how to get along with teachers. And I know it will be a tough year for me if get admitted but I’m willing to go through all of that so I can finally have the chance to express myself better through the courses they offer.</p>

<p>@sindkirasta wow im albanian! but i applied for freshman and got denied for both :(</p>
