Here are my stats, please assess my chances as an international applicant from Germany. Will the fact that I apply as an international affect my application in a negative/positive way?

SAT I: Havent taken yet, expect them to be 700-800
SAT II: German ~800, French ~800, Maths I 600-700

I am ranked 1st out of 120 and my school has predicted me a perfect school leaving examination (Abitur)

Essays: fairly good, don't have a supplementary one yet. It mainly reflects my interests and extracurriculars, but has no real story or topic

Reports: very good, describe me as one of the best students ever taught. However, don't reflect my extracurriculars, since my essay is built around that.

I come from a Hungarian migrant family (white, catholic; should I mention that?!?), but live in Germany for almost 10 years now.

I have founded a debating club at our school and we compete on both national and European level. (I've also won a national award)

I have participated in various MUN's and got an invitation to NMUN as one of the very few highschool students to attend

I compete on national level in swimming and track (long distance) and have won various national championships and second/third places.

I captain a swimming team (kids 14-17yrs) at my local sports club

I speak five languages fluently, Hungarian being my native language, German, French, Japanese and of course English.

I have founded a society in my municipality tutoring migrant children on a pro bono basis in a broad variety of subjects ranging from languages to maths and sciences.

Founded a company designing and maintaining websites for small and midsized companies, as well as database programming.

Participated in various exchange programs around the world, which were enabled through scholarships

Board president of a political parties youth organization in my municipality

This is mainly what I do, I hope it won't be interpreted as out of focus, since I'm not a super-geek in anything, I just like to do a broad variety of things.

Oh, I forgot that I've had 3 summer internships (each 6 weeks) during the last three years. Two of them were in foreign countries.

Should I mention that, as well?

And does it play a role that my grandparents are all farmers, albeit my parents are academics? So I am the second generation to attend college in my family history...

You've done a lot of incredible, unique things and I'm sure you'll do fine. Good luck with your application!

Thank you for your encouragement!

Since we seem to have the same interests (regarding to our desired study paths at Harvard, Government/Economics) I could perhaps post my stats too here so that we could check and compare our stats while also encouraging ourselves. Maybe this thread could extend to include more internationals?

Anyways here are my stats:

SAT I & SAT II's: Not done any yet, going to do the first SAT in April, SAT II's at may or later in the summer. Applying EA to Harvard though in December.

I'm black (somalian/east african) but growed up in Sweden since age 4 (I'm an 87 turning 19 this summer).

In terms of grades there all but excellent. After grade 9 I took a one-year break. Due to lack of determination regarding future career path in my freshman year I didn't do good but later on when I realized what I wanted to be (in grade 2 which I'm in right now till this summer) I started doing some progress.

I got 2 C's (from freshman year) 4 B's (also from fm year) and 8 A's so far. Got 14 courses left and I'm realistically expecting 12 A's and 2 B's. We have a different GPA system here in Sweden. I would land on 18.5 on a scale upto 20.0. Not at all good, very average. I will however be at least in the top 3 in my class (which only consists of 23 students) when it comes to academics.

My strong sides are however my outside activities which I have boosted since last year. I'm now running a media channel for the out-of-home market (can't develope further). The firms advantage and the business profitability lies in the "know-how" and a fundamental business execution in comparison to other competitors in the industry. Patents on some devices are also under development but will most certainly not take off until end of next year. I'm currently having a crucial meeting with Clear Channel, which if succeeded, would increase the turnover of the company with 1-10 millions of US dollars annually. Well see how it goes within the coming weeks.

Furthermore I have through familiar connections and personal corporate interests in Somalia established a smaller energy company (currently limited to wind/solar power but expanding). In case the Clear Channel deal gets screwed up my plans are to go heavy on this one, since I could easily get in touch with lots of NGO's, UN staff and also get recommendations from top political leaders, maybe even the transitional president. Sure the country is in anarchy right now but because of its geographic position and potential natural resources it is attractive to US aswell as China (who already established embassies and eco-political ties with the transitional government) and Russia. The nearness to Dubai does also increase the business potential.

Well that's all I had. An unfinished application outline. It has to be finished by Oct/Nov though. I'll update my status till next month. Hope all internationals good luck!

Oh I forgot, how does my chances look so far? Edit 2 Meant "encouraging each other" instead of "ourselves" in the post before :P
