Chances as an OOS at UNC? Pretty please? :)

"In short, if you're at the top of your class, you'll be competitive in admissions. having a low GPA and so so rank because your "school is hard and competitive" is an excuse people make because a bunch of kids in their class did better then they did."

Mostly true, unless the school ranks as I described. In our district, an A in second year journalism gets the same GPA points as AP Calculus BC. So if you get a respectable B+ in that Calc class, you can get in line behind that journalism student who made an A.

of course i'm assuming your school weights its classes :-) if it doesn't then obviously the college would know that and look past your class rank.

sorry jags...ranking at our school is just my pet peeve...lol!

understood :-) ranking is a touchy subject. im torn on it. if your like 1 or 2 its great, if your like 20 or so, but still have an A, then its not so hot. I guess i was lucky i was in the first group rather than the 2nd hehe.

I'm sure hard work, not luck, is why you are in the first group. :-)
