DUH!! you can get in!! ;D

I would be incredibly surprised if you were rejected. AU is a low match for you.

Yes, true. I suggest you consider schools like GU, Brown, Amherst, Dartmouth, Cornell, Columbia, NYU along with AU. I’m not saying do not apply to AU, you SHOULD. But, you should also try schools that are a better than AU as well. You have a lot of potential, reach as far as you can stretch. (hmm that sounds wise) If all else fails, no matter, you’ll most probably have AU, and we all know how good that is. :)

you should have no problem getting in, you should receive ample merit money if you get up your test scores and you could probably get into much better schools as well.

AU yes, but the other suggested schools? Sorry, I don’t see it. A 4.0w GPA and 27 ACT or even slightly above that will not get you into those schools.

While the OP is a fine applicant, her stats are not up to snuff for most of the schools listed above.

GU - reach
Brown - super reach
Amherst - pretty big reach
Dartmouth - super reach
Cornell - pretty big reach
Columbia - no way
NYU - reach

yeah i agree … i’m not trying for those kind of schools. my reaches are GW and dickinson i’m no where near brown or that kind of caliber.

I say you’d never know until you try! No guarantees but you won’t lose anything.

All you need is a super essay to give you that tick sometimes, other factors considered. No point moulding your answers on the middle 50% applicants sat/act scores etc… and saying oh thats just a Super Reach for you, I doubt you’ll make it! I mean there are people in Harvard who have a SAT Math score of 590! If they had that attitude you all talk of they’d probably have ended up in a normal college like everyone else!

If you’re that afraid to TRY or ready to be stomped on by others’ opinions, then that just shows, yeah, your probably not that material!!!

PS FYI: 2 of my friends got into Cornell this year and bbbreathe’s stats outshine theirs by a mile!

thanks for the advice jamesnew : )

You’re very welcome! ;D Never let others set the bar for you.
