My question is, without taking any APs/Honors til' Senior year, will it really effect my chances at a UC school? And with the lack of a good cumulative GPA, are my chances at UCSB really slim?

I can see you at a UC, but certainly not Santa Barbara.

If your PSAT is indicative of your future SAT score, your grades stay the same, and you don't take any honors/ap, you are really hurting your chances.

My advice: find a way to get into some honors/ap classes if possible, and study lots for the SAT. Those AP classes in your senior year won't help you as much because they aren't factored into your UC GPA.

Hi, I had the same problem as you. My grades sucked freshman and sophomore year, and I didn' take any APs my junior year. However, I raised my grades junior year, took 2 APs and an honor class my senior year, got a cumulative 3.51 GPA and scored an 1880 on the SAT. And what do you know? I got my acceptance letter to UCSB today =). Even though the AP classes from senior year don't factor in to your GPA, they show progress, so you should take them. Try to improve your SAT Score, and bulk up your EC's. You still have time to add potency to your resume and better your chances of getting in to SB! Hope this helps and inspires you!
