Chances at BA/MD Programs for a Rising Senior?

Here are my current stats (I'm a junior right now). I'm strongly considering the following BA/MD programs:

Northwestern HPME, Rice/Baylor, Brown PLME (I will not be applying early), USC, UC San Diego Medical Scholars, George Washington

Please evaluate my stats and be brutally honest. Any and all advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

BASICS:
Chinese American female (naturalized US citizen)
Currently a junior
California resident
Upper middle class ($110k-120k income bracket)
Will have amazing recs from chemistry teacher (science dept. head) and counselor (who deals with 500+ students); good rec from English teacher (for 2 years); know this because they wrote me recs for summer programs. Probably an additional rec from the Stanford professor I'll be interning with this summer.

"The Dream" Sparknotes version: One day start a nonprofit hospital for Shanghai street orphans that would serve both in primary care and research

GPAs:
Freshman year: 4.0 UW
Sophomore year: 4.0 UW, 4.333 W
Junior year: 4.0 UW, 4.857 W
Cumulative (10-11): 4.0 UW, 4.595W
Never got below a solid A in high school, though some teachers don't show the A+s that I got, and took high school classes in middle school.
School doesn't rank, but I'm in the top 1% of a graduating class of 669.
The school's not too prestigious, but we had 4 people get into Stanford this year; a few others get into MIT, Harvard, etc.; and one into Northwestern HPME.

Most rigorous curriculum available at competitive public school. Currently taking 3 APs and 3 honors classes. I plan for 5 APs for senior year.

TEST SCORES:
SATI: 770 math, 800 critical reading, 800 writing
PSAT: 80 math, 80 critical reading, 78 writing
SAT Subject Tests:
MathIIC: 800
Chemistry: 800
French: 770
Literature: 750 (retaking in June)

Essays and interviews should be strong to outstanding.

Northwestern=Match to Safety

I don't know about any of the others, sorry.

You're competitive for most BA/MD programs.

You definitely have a good chance at any one of those programs. However, I know many people with stats like yours who were rejected from BA/MD programs because they weren't truly able to show their interest in medicine through their essays and interviews. Make sure your show this well in your essays. Gluck! :)

In. Anywhere I'd say.

You should consider applying to HYP. Graduating from one of those schools is basicly a guarantee of getting into a top medical school.

you gotta be kidding me , how did you do all the extracurricular stuff?

wooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooow.

There can be no advice. You're the closest one can get to academic perfection...

Only thing holding you back would be anti-Asian, anti-white, pro-other-groups affirmative action. Does that seem fair to people on this board?

I would concur with a poster above. Apply to HYP, a few of the combo med programs, and a few safties. You should have some pretty good options!

this is some good ****. what school do you go to? monta vista? mission?

Lol, don't worry, I'm applying to the typical HYPSM/UCs mess. :] It's just that I'm hoping to get into a BA/MD program, and I know that getting into an Ivy is still vastly different from getting into a BA/MD program, which is why I started this thread.

Thanks for all the advice, especially from yay4college. One of the things I'm pretty worried about is that I'm not one of those kids who have been researching and doing medicine-related activities for my entire high school career. I don't know how much that'll count against me when I'm compared to people who have done amazing things like that (e.g. gotten papers published, won the chem/bio/physics olympiads, etc.).

And hikaru, Monta Vista is actually a school that I would consider to be insanely competitive, because they do send tons of kids to HYPMS every year though obviously Harker is slightly better and neither can compare to Exeter/Andover. I do live in the Bay Area, but away from Silicon Valley enough so that the people who have heard of my school probably only know it because of our track star. :] Where do you go?

Haha np. You do have some medicine/health related stuff. The rehabilitation center stuff and the health/science newsletter. I really recommend getting that rec from the supervisor. This EC really shows some potential to amaze the adcoms @ those skls :).

Work really hard on that summer research. Just getting semifinalist in Siemens/Intel is an amazing accomplishment and colleges give you major props for it. FYI- I believe Intel isn't until after college apps, so you should put a lot of effort into the Siemens app :-D! (I honestly this was wut gave me the edge for the USC Bac/MD program).

Lol. So which school do you go to? I go to lynbrook. The school that got its 1/3 of its ap program cut and I think monta vista only sends like 20 to hypms each year. You would probably be competitive at any school.

i dont know why u're freakin posting. u should be able to make it in anywhere. and i am not exaggerating.
