Thanks for looking at all of this and giving me your opinion at my chances at being accepted into Johns Hopkins University.

Sincerely

Jacob L.

You’re right when you say your SAT scores are weak, but your extracurriculars, GPA, class rank, volunteer service and rigor of curriculum are all very good. Not to mention the minority advantage. You’re certainly a competetive candidate, your chances are strong in my opinion. (But of course, I’m not an admissions officer and there are factors about your application I am not aware of.)

Thanks gtgen. Truly does boost my confidence. Do you think i should retake the SAT one more time?

i think you should take the SAT again if you think you are more prepared. If you took the SAT in your junior year, definitely take it again senior year. For some reason, I’ve been doing better on standardized testing during my senior year and got higher scores on ACT and SAT. =) Good luck if you decide to retake!

SweetDreamzzz i did retake it my senior year. It went up 130 points from last time, probably would of gone up more if i didn’t mess up on my essay, the second time. But Alrighty thank you. And Thank god for the extension deadline.

I would definitely retake the SAT. I took the SAT 3 times, and from my first score to my last score, I improved by 280 points.

i’m not sure if my info is correct but i heard that essay scores of 8 or 9 don’t really affect your writing score… it stays the same while an essay score of 10+ boosts up the writing section score. i know someone who got a 2400 on the SAT even though she got a 9 on her essay XD

@gtgen Signed up for the december one. Wish me luck. =]

@sweetdreamzzz first time around i got an 11, second time a 9. But wow 2400 is impressive no matter how you get it…All i really want is like a 2000.

December 4
