-uncle did phd at brown and frequently gives talks there (about every 2 years)
Will their positions help me at all? Should I even bother applying?

<p>Positions might help a bit but they wont get you into any college. Your GPA is quite low and that might get you rejected regardless of your perfect ACT and other ECs. What are the ECs though?</p>
<p>Yes i know, and even worse it’s my cumulative gpa. I got a 2.7 freshmen year 3 sophomore year and 4 my junior year 
extracurriculara are multiple music groups, level 9 pianist, taught a coding class to middle schoolers for 2 years, mentor at niu engineering program, lead in musical all 3 years also I was on an flc robotics team freshmen year</p>
<p>ECs sound great. If can write great essays and also give a strong reason for your low GPA on your app, you can get into either one of them. Although odds are that you will get rejected at both the places.
