Chances at CMC ED?

I’m an international student from India applying ED…with financial aid ( ugh ). What do you reckon my chances are?

SAT: 1480
Essay: 22/24
Class rank: 5%
GPA: We don’t get one, I’m doing the A-Levels and my predicted grades are A,A,A.

I focus a lot on my ECs.

-Organized a musical fundraiser to raise money for LGBT women
-President of the school fest, hosting 5 schools and 500 people one year and 10 schools and a 1000 people the next.
-I run a charity to rehabilitate stray dogs in India. Government recognized, affiliated with hospitals.
-Prefect in the student council for 2 years.
-Debate team for 4 years, won inter-school and national debates. Same for MUN, several awards.
-Worked with Apne Aap, an organization working towards the rehabilitation of sex workers
-Ensured the employment of female workers at a petrol pump when I interned at a firm that owned it
-Published in 3 short story anthology books. 1 in India and 2 international.
-Several other community service and social justice related activities

I write a lot and I feel like my common app essay is strong…do you think it’ll make up for my SAT score and want for financial aid?

Wow, that’s a pretty amazing app, stumbled across CMC pretty late but I’m applying ED2  GOOD LUCK another question which major are you going for and have you done any interviews?

I’d always known about CMC but I reconsidered it just in time for ED1! And I’m terrified my app is below average!!
I chose Philosophy and Public Affairs as my first choice major, and yeah I did do a phone interview with an alumnus. Best of luck for ED2!

You have a much stronger application than others, but being an int’l student from India asking for financial aid makes acceptance very hard, as you noted (especially b/c CMC is not need blind for int’l students).

Honestly can’t chance you other than to say as a domestic student you’d be a strong candidate. Good luck!

Thank you so very much, very (somewhat) reassuring to hear that! I’m honestly just all ready for a rejection, but man would I love to be proven wrong aha.
