What colleges should I be thinking about?

Come on, help me!

We've gone through this before.

Well it turned out to be a little inaccurate remember so I left out some stuff. Fish if you don't wanna post nobody asked you, but I'd be happy to have your input.

what about your test scores and ecs? although i think you should probably aim for ann arbor, UVA, NYU, and maybe u of chicago

Oh, practice SAT I scored a 1510 and I'm expecting to do pretty well on the writing part of the new one. So test scores are good.

er..dont go off of practice. my friend got 1400's in her practice and got in 1200's ..

Since you're from Texas, I'd advise you to pick UVA, Berkeley, UCLA, Ann Arbor, and U of M, and one or two privates as backup.

keep posting

dudes, come on.

IMO, you have weak EC's. That could be your major letdown. Also, many of your classes are not very rigorous, and your A's are pretty much expected, if not mandatory for the top tiers.

Not sure how to say, or what college really, just had to give you that feedback.

Yeah I know those are kind of weak EC's. What do you mean the courses aren't rigorous, that is the most rigorous courseload possible at that school. I even got into an AP that no sophmore is allowed to take.

i was just wondering, does your school limit the number of AP classes a sophomore can take? if that's true, then you should be fine.

What do you mean the courses aren't rigorous, that is the most rigorous courseload possible at that school.

Realize the truth here, your classes ARE NOT RIGOROUS. This, I meant in comparison with other students (well duh). There are kids who finish pre-calc or even first sem. calc before going into high-school. No AP's allowed by sophomores? There are hundreds of freshman across this nation that sit in classes with seniors, with a full AP schedule. Even if they are not allowed, there are even students who go to a local college for their classes.

But not to diss you, "dude." Like got-rice said, if they don't offer them, that is considered. But just remember there are kids in California and New York who are INSANE.

haha..sophomores...why worry so early? you can do plenty of that junior and senior yr. high school isn't all about college.

This year you should not be thinking of any college; rather, be learning about a selection of 35 to 50, then narrow down next year.

I don't seem to remember saying I had the most rigorous courseload of any student in the United States. I know a plethora of students who have gotten into great schools without being some genius in Calculus at age eight. So if you think you're discouraging me, I'm just laughing at you.

Again, you're missing the point.

I'm telling you that compared to others it is not rigorous, because I'm telling you that is a factor you should consider. And I never said that being a genius was your ticket in. I was AGAIN, telling you to remember that there are kids like that you are up against.

Also, realize the truth here, your classes ARE NOT RIGOROUS. This, I meant in comparison with other students (well duh).

-Notice the second sentence.

You come to a "what are my chances" board, and then "laugh" at an opinion.

So you're laughing at me? Because right now, I couldn't find you more hilarious.

Let's stop being immature, I mean both of us, maybe you just worded what you said wrong and it offended me. If you want to continue this I guess nobody said you had to post in my thread.

I understand there are a few out there that are geniuses and are better than me. But I know for a fact my school has a stringent policy that no sophmore can take an AP class. When I asked to take one they approved and said, "Only because you are (my name)".

I was actually supposed to be in Algebra 2 freshman year but in 3rd grade my parents declined the option of moving me up a grade on the math track.

In response to the question by got_rice, yes they will only let you take PreAP (Honors) courses before junior year.
