Chances at Colorado College (compelling story)

I live about 15 minutes away from Colorado College and that's one of my only options for college because of its need-base grants. I have a 3.9 unweighted GPA. I'm waiting for my ACT score right now. I plan on taking 3+ AP classes my senior year. Also, do compelling stories really help your application? I'm going to do an interview since I'm so close to the school.
I didn't finish my freshman year due to personal issues. I left the country about two weeks before finals. I lived in a third world country for a year and it was really hard. My school was a few miles away and there were no school buses. I had to wake up every morning at 5 am to catch the bus and subway at 6 and walk for 20 minutes. I was also attending a school that only spoke Spanish and for 7 years I only spoke Spanish at my house. I didn't let any of that stop me. I would stay after school to work on my Spanish. I would stay up until 12 am to do my homework, it was so hard but I ended up getting straight As for that year. After that year my mom made me come back to CO. Since I didn't finish my freshman year I had to take 6 extra classes online. I caught up by the end of the year and now I'm signed up for AP classes. All this experience helped me value education so much. I never gave up even if it was so difficult for me. I didn't finish my freshman year and spent sophomore year out of the country but I'm still 4th in my class rank.

Yes, they will be very interested in your compelling story and the adversity you have overcome. Your GPA and class rank are excellent. If your ACT score is in line, you should have a strong shot at CC.

It is a great school. We visited for spring break and my daughter loved the block plan. Make sure you like the idea of the block plan. And as the admission officer giving our info session said - there are 3 things that you must understand about this school and convey your enthusiasm for on the application. 1. Colorado Location, 2. The Block Plan Schedule and 3. A liberal arts education (broad coursework, intent being to open your mind rather than prep for a career).

However, does CC admit students under the deferred action for childhood arrivals?

Hi!I am so interested in your compelling stories. Also I am more interesterd in CC. Since CC is so familiar to you, please tell me some specific information about it!

You know, I am an international student and I really admire the block plan of CC.

Firstly, I want to know that the weather of CC. Is it so cold? Cause I found that it is at the edge of the Rocky Mount…

And I want to know if students here just choose what they want to study that can change easily instead of choosing one major and then study through the 4 year. I mean it is not like other University that the study id preparing for finding a job, is it?

@Jiangyj‌ you would find that kinds of info in Colorado College forum…

OP, your story sounds quite compelling, and if you manage to deliver your story in a master piece, CC will not hesitate to accept you. Seeing that you are working very hard in your academics, I would be shocked if CC doesn’t accept you.
