Chances at Columbia and Duke????

I want to know my chances at Columbia and Duke
Also, my brother goes to Duke (Class of 16) if that changes anything

I took 1 AP freshman and sophomore year, 3 classes but 4 exams jr year, and 4 senior year
EC:
2 years of HS volleyball (freshman and sophomore)
4 years of club volleyball
1 year of tennis (JV2)
National Honor Society: 11&12
Journalism: 9-12
Interact Club: 10-12
FCCLA: 11&12
A few other clubs for 11&12
Volunteering: 100+ hours so far through clubs and volunteering at a hospital
Chinese School since I was in kindergarten

Superior rating at National High School Journalism Convention in Denver for write-off
Silver at FCCLA State
AP scholar with distinction

I would apply ED too, I’m thinking pre-law, pre-med, sciences, or engineering idk yet

Both to me are high reaches/crapshoots, even with ED. Grades and test scores are fine, but ec’s don’t stand out to me at all, especially considering you have nothing that relates to the sciences. Which one do you like better? Apply ED there.

Your grades and stats puts you within range. Your brothers legacy will also help a bit. My suggestion is to take a firm stand on a potential major and tailor everything in the application to reflect it. Good luck.
