That's a hard AP. I'll be lucky to get a 3.

Maybe add Duke in there also?

Are you guys serious? His gpa is too low for Duke or any of the ivy leagues.

I don't think your GPA is high enough that Columbia is likely, even in ED, unless you have a real 'hook' or major dedicationg in any area, because your EC list looks very similar to what most stereotypically 'Asian' kids have - as a bare minimum. I don't know if Northwestern is quite a 'match'... still, try for it, and I might suggest getting the SAT I score up a bit if you think you can.

What is wrong with a 3.72 UW?

Seriously. It depends on the high school. What's the rank, much more important.

does it make any difference if i apply to the columbia engineering school ED?

btw there's no rank. but if there was, i'd be 29/380. Also, im in a magnet program at a nationally known school.

I'd say you have a good shot at Columbia ED. However, for regular decision, your reach schools become almost impossible. I'd say if you went Cornell ED, which increases your chances tremendously, you would be in, though.

Why would cornell be easier to get in than columbia

I think Pentasa is saying that if you applied to Cornell ED, your chances of getting in would be better because it's acceptance rate ED is roughly 40%.

What are the stereotypical and Non stereotypical asian ecs?
