well your gpa is a little bit low, your ecs dont stand out, and the fact that you're asian wont help so here it goes:
Northwestern-Reach
Harvard-nearly impossible
Yale-nearly impossible
MIT- nearly impossible
UPenn-reach
Boston College- reach/match
CMU-match
Cornell-reach/match
Duke-reach/match

BC is the easiest school by far. The highest BC ever has been rated is 37-40 hardly in the same category. Can't figure out the appeal of BC when it was a commuter school for most of its history.

My opinion...
Northwestern-- match
Harvard-- i'd be surprised if you got in
Yale-- 10%
MIT-- 20%
UPenn-- 40%
Cornell-- 40%
Duke-- 40%
Boston College and CMU-- I'd be surprised if you didn't get in.

too bad the admissions officers don't know **** about how hard it is to get 2nd dan..
at least, it is in Korea...don't know about how it is in america

Go for it. Harvard doesn't require anything unusual for their app so If you dont mind paying the fee, just apply for the heck of it (assuming you have the recs and school reports in). Paying 60 $ for even a little chance can be worth it.

Hehe yay a fellow kendo master! Yea the hogu is kinda annoying... especially since I live 30 minutes away from the gym, so I have to carry it all the way there and back. It took me a whole year to figure out how to put it on properly by myself :D

Actually I sent out applications to all the schools... I hope it isn't money wasted. Fingers crossed that I get into UPenn or Harvard :D

my cousin went to that school, and she quit after 1 year because she didn't like the trial system or whatever it is they have there... i heard students give corporal punishment to other students? scary.... :D
