Chances at Cooper Union. I am a URM! PLEASE HELP AN ANXIOUS SENIOR! WILL CHANCE BACK!

Thanks for the chance? Does everyone really think I have that great a shot? I heard that Cooper was really hard to get into??

anymore opinions???

yeah, it seems like you have a good chance, i am nervous too, but all we can do is wait:)

don’t know much about your school but your stats seem pretty decent! good luck!

You have good SAT scores and I think you will do well at this school!!!

GOOD LUCK :)

Anyone in the same situation as I’m in http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/832111-what-my-chances-get-into-hoftsra.html#post1063752191

you should aim for a better school you have like a 95% chance to get in. On top of that if you apply to some good privates you can have your whole tuition paid. Colleges are looking for more people like you. who have come socio-economically adversity to become successful.

Thanks for responding to my thread!
Sorry man, I don’t know anything about Cooper Union
Everyone else seems to say that your chances are good though so no worries

Only help I can give man is a bump! Good luck

Thanks everyone!

I am applying to other schools but not a lot though (due to the limit on fee waivers)

I am applying to
Columbia (I know is a reach)
MIT (I know is a reach)
Cornell (I know is a reach)
Cooper Union (I thought was a reach but apparently you all believe I have great chances of getting in)
Macaulay Honors College @ City College (people at my school say is a reach)
Manhattan College (what I considered a safety)
NYU Polytech (what I considered a safety)

I never heard that before, that people are looking for people like me. I thought they were looking for the guy with the 4.0 gpa and a 2400 SATI and 800 SATIIs who write spectacular essays lmao. What gets me nervous is my numbers, which arent horrible but arent anywhere near some of the stats I have seen here.

I would still like to know people’s opinions on my chances @ Cooper Union. Also, does the major you pick affect your admissions. I know that the Electrical Engineering is a BIG program there, lots of people apply to it. What about Civil? Is wanting to pursue Civil engineering helping my admissions as well?

anyway anyone else!?

Please anyone

Bump please anyone else?

i think it will be a low reach/match but i think just write stellar essays cuz ur stats are within the 50 percent range so good luck

u have been chanced :)

more “chances” please!

Today my counsoler told me today (I asked her) that my chances at cooper union are very slim, MIT is near impossible, Columbia, Cornell, and Macaulay Honors College are also very slim and that I shouldn’t count on any of them. Yet when I go here people seem to think my chances at Cooper are really good! What is the deal, is everyone being really generous or is she trying to get me to aim low so she looks good?

More opinions Please!

Hahaha I said today twice my bad

you have a good chance and good luck:):p

Ur scores are iffy. but your ECs are definately up there, they show consistency. So im gonna say its a match to a low reach for you, but you definately have a good possibility. good luck!

I think that its a high match for you! Considering that your e/c for the most part are consisten with your intended major, and that ur a minority you should be in! Good luck!

Thanks!

Anyone else?

Counselors have the tendency to be pessimistic so that if you get in, it looks better. I think Cooper is a low reach for you, though.
