Excellent...I scored a 12 both times I took the new SAT and a 12 on the ACT essay, so maybe that will help a little.

parents went to state schools so alumni won't help...
BE HONEST!

Let's take a look at the big picture: your grades are obviously pretty solid, and you're ranked first in your class, so that's a plus. Your test scores are decent but not spectacular when it comes to Duke and Dartmouth. Also, your EC's are solid but also unspectacular. Overall, based on what I see here, you'll need some good essays and recommendations to help you out. Having said this:

Reaches: Dartmouth and Duke
Mid-Ranges: RPI and WPI

Good luck :)

I'm pretty sure you have WPI in the bag (Worchester Poly?). My fiance got in 6 years ago with lower stats and I think was even offered some $$. Not sure how standards have changed since then though...

I forgot to mention that I won the rpi medal for my school

thanks for your help...BUMP

Oh you're in at RPI if you got the medal. Congrats! =D
